Pablo D'Erasmo’s deep intellectual curiosity motivates him to study banking, macroeconomics, and international finance at the Philadelphia Fed. He seeks to create a link between data and theory and provide support for policy analysis. He has recently published a paper about corporate bankruptcy and firm dynamics in the Review of Economic Studies and a paper about domestic and external sovereign default in the Journal of Monetary Economics.
Pablo joined the Bank in 2013 as a senior economist and was promoted to economic advisor and economist in 2017 and to senior economic advisor and economist in 2024. Prior to that, he worked in the economics department at the University of Maryland, College Park and was a visiting scholar at the International Monetary Fund, Centre de Recerca en Economia Internacional, and the European University Institute.
Pablo attained his Ph.D. and M.S. in economics at the University of Texas at Austin and his B.S. in economics from the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa.
