Areas of Expertise
Andrew (Andy) Kish is an assistant vice president in the Financial Monitoring Group in the Supervision, Regulation, and Credit Department. Andy’s role focuses on supervision of the nation’s largest banks. Andy’s team monitors large bank consumer lending in areas such as credit cards, auto loans, and mortgages year-round, and members of the team serve as examiners and data experts in the annual stress testing of the largest banks.
Andy joined the Bank in 2004 as an analyst for the largest U.S. credit card issuers. Following the Great Recession of 2007–2009, the Federal Reserve gained access to detailed information on large bank consumer lending. Andy’s team analyzes this data and makes it accessible to Fed examiners of large banks, which helps them to do their jobs more effectively and ensures a healthy financial system for consumers.
A highlight of Andy’s career was publishing the first-ever Large Bank Credit Card and Mortgage Data dashboard, which aggregates detailed information on large bank lending and provides insights into consumer lending trends. His team updates the credit card and mortgage data each quarter and publishes a report summarizing trends.
Prior to joining the Bank, Andy was an economist at Moody’s Analytics, where he contributed to the company’s online site, worked on economic reports, and assisted in the creation of monthly economic forecasts. Andy has a Ph.D. and master’s degree in economics from Temple University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
