The Wave 7 special report reveals that many measures of economic health for consumers have remained steady since September 2020, with some indications that changes in the pandemic’s spread are driving employees to work remotely at higher rates. The Bipartisan-Bicameral Omnibus COVID Relief Deal passed last December appears to have had a positive effect, as financial security and assistance-seeking behavior have both improved for the first time since last July, although many respondents feel the effects may be limited. In addition, targeted questions to renters and mortgage holders reveal that there is awareness of programs and rules intended to financially support them; however, large portions of the population remain without access to or knowledge of those programs. More details are available in the full report.
