A Note on Gender Differences in Credit Card Limit Changes

This note examines whether changes in credit card limits on existing accounts differ by gender and whether there are gender differences in limit changes at different points in the credit cycle.

In a new FEDS Note, “A Note on Gender Differences in Credit Card Limit Changes,” available on the Board of Governor’s website, Nathan Blascak (Philadelphia Fed) and Anna Tranfaglia (Board of Governors) examine whether there are gender differences in the size of credit limit increases and decreases to existing credit card accounts using detailed credit bureau data on successful mortgage applicants.
