On October 16, 2019, the Consumer Finance Institute of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia hosted a symposium on income-share agreements (ISAs) in postsecondary education. The symposium addressed the fundamentals and features of ISAs, early experiences from educational programs at the forefront of ISA adoption, and future promises and challenges (particularly legal and regulatory) of these financial arrangements. Attendees represented a range of nonprofit and for-profit organizations and engaged in dialogue incorporating industry, academic, consumer, and public-sector perspectives.
