Michael DiPiano

Michael DiPiano, a Class C director, is managing general partner and chairman of NewSpring Capital, a private equity firm in Radnor, PA. He is a general partner of the firm’s dedicated growth equity funds and serves as a member of the investment committee of all NewSpring funds. Before cofounding NewSpring, DiPiano was a serial entrepreneur and investor. He has led or coled investment into companies in the business services, healthcare, and information technology industries.
Previously, DiPiano was affiliated with Safeguard Scientifics Inc. from 1996 to 1998 and was a division CEO and director of Chemical Leaman Corporation from 1990 to 1996. DiPiano began his career in 1980 with Baxter Healthcare Corporation. He held numerous positions at Baxter, culminating as vice president responsible for operations and sales of the industrial scientific products division.
DiPiano is the chair of the board of directors of the University City Science Center and serves on the board of directors of the Barra Foundation.
He has an M.B.A. from NYU Stern School of Business and a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University.
