The 2021 Rural Policy Summit is a virtual series that will bring together a wide range of stakeholders, including policymakers, nonprofit leaders, academic researchers, industry professionals, and others interested in rural policy, to learn about and discuss major policy issues that will affect rural Pennsylvania over the next five to 10 years. The five topic areas for the series are:

  • Education
  • Health care
  • Local services
  • Economic development
  • Agriculture

The July 22 session will kick off the series by providing a broad demographic overview of rural Pennsylvania, which will help set the stage for the monthly sessions that will begin in September and wrap up in January 2022. Registration for the July 22 kickoff event is now open.

The series is being cohosted by the Center for Rural Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health, the Pennsylvania Rural Development Council, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Downtown Center, and the Philadelphia Fed's Community Development and Regional Outreach Department.
