The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia announces Maryann Hood, Assistant Vice President, has been given responsibilities for staffing; training and development; and compensation in the Bank's Human Resources Department. She formerly held the position of Assistant Vice President in the Bank's Check Adjustments Department.
Ms. Hood has an 18-year career with the Federal Reserve System. She started as a management intern at the New Orleans Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta in 1982. She worked in New Orleans for six years primarily in the Cash Department as Assistant Manager.
In 1988, she joined the Memphis Branch at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis where she served as manager of the Check Department until 1990. She then moved to the Philadelphia Fed to work in its Retail Payments Department where she has worked for the past ten years. During her tenure here she was promoted to Officer of Check Adjustments in 1995 and to Associate Vice President in 1998.
She is graduate of Hood College, Frederick, Md.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia serves depository institutions in eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware by supplying cash to these banks and thrifts; supervising them; collecting and processing about 4.6 million checks daily; and wiring money and securities nationwide as well as participating in the broader objective of setting monetary policy.
