Immigration in the U.S.: Economic Effects on the Nation and Its Cities

Immigration has not only been a significant public policy issue in recent years; it has also been the focus of a growing body of academic research. This conference will examine immigration's effects on the national and local economies in the U.S. Topics include domestic and international determinants of legal and illegal immigration flows, immigrants' location choices and assimilation into the U.S. economy, peer effects among immigrants, and immigration's impact on housing and labor markets.
