PHILADELPHIA - The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has appointed Dennis E. Klima, president and CEO of Bayhealth Inc., Dover, Del., to serve on its Business Council for a three-year term beginning this year. He is also CEO, chairman, and president of Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover, Del. The 12-member council advises Federal Reserve officials about regional business conditions and economic issues that have an impact on the marketplace.
Klima is a governor appointee to the Delaware Health Commission Cost Containment Committee and a trustee of the University of Delaware's board. He is a member of the Central Delaware Economics Development Committee, the Delaware Business Roundtable, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the American Hospital Association. He is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a former president and board member of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce.
Klima holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Illinois and a master's degree in hospital administration from Duke University.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia serves depository institutions in eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware. The Bank supplies cash to these banks and thrifts, supervises them, collects and processes about 5 million checks daily, wires money and securities nationwide, and participates in the broader objective of setting monetary policy.
