Shown above are $20 Standing Liberty Double Eagle gold coins, designed by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, and a 1934 $100,000 gold certificate featuring President Woodrow Wilson, the largest denomination ever issued in U.S. paper currency. The $100,000 bill was used only for bank transfers.
