Community Profile: Lancaster, PA Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)

Introduction

The Lancaster, PA MSA consists of Lancaster County and includes the principal city of Lancaster. Lancaster County is located in south central Pennsylvania and is bordered by Berks, Chester, Dauphin, Lebanon, and York counties in Pennsylvania. The county also borders the state of Maryland to the south.

The Susquehanna River runs along the northern and western edges of the city of Lancaster. The county is located within driving distance of Washington, D.C.; Baltimore; Philadelphia; and New York City.
