Community Profile: Dover, DE Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)

Introduction

The Dover, DE MSA consists of Kent County and includes the principal city of Dover.* 

The MSA is located in central Delaware on the Delmarva Peninsula.  It borders Delaware’s two other counties: Newcastle County to the north and Sussex County to the south. The Dover, DE MSA also borders the eastern shore of Maryland to the west and the Delaware Bay to east. The city of Dover is the capital of Delaware and is located toward the center of the MSA.

For the remainder of this report, we will refer to the area of Kent County as the Dover, DE MSA.
