Community Profile: Altoona, PA Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)

Introduction

The Altoona, PA MSA consists of Blair County, PA, and includes the principal city of Altoona. The MSA lies in the eastern foothills of the Allegheny Mountains in central Pennsylvania. The city of Altoona is located in the central region of Blair County and is situated 130 miles west of Harrisburg, 100 miles east of Pittsburgh, and 40 miles south of Penn State University's main campus in State College, PA.
